Staying true to Mystic’s philosophy “Why follow when you can lead?”, we got one of the ultimate leaders of fitness in Egypt, Karim Ismail aka. Kersho to represent Mystic Boarding.
As owner and founder of Stallions and Urban Race, a kitesurf addict and overall adrenaline junkie, Kersho, 34, was a natural fit as brand ambassador to the innovative Mystic brand. We asked him a few questions to get to know the man behind the muscles.
What got you to start Stallions?
I was always passionate about sports. I started playing sports at a young age and never stopped since. I was a water polo player and a professional boxer and realized that I excel the most when I integrate sports in what I do and that is when Stallions evolved. Transforming the community’s mindset and raising awareness and appreciation of sports and healthy living became my main prerogative. Through Stallions I was able to show people the true glory of leading an active lifestyle and that nothing should holding them back. 


When did you know that Stallions was successful?
After the first few months, the number of participants increased dramatically but was marked the success was the commitment demonstrated by most of the individuals that joined Stallions. 


What makes the Stallions team different from other similar fitness teams?
Stallions is based on the science of Sports Performance Enhancement that allows us to train individuals as if they were professional athletes. Not only that, but we train professional athletes with a specific set of workouts that directly enhance their performance in their sport.
Transforming the community’s mindset and raising awareness and appreciation of sports and healthy living became my main prerogative.
What has been your biggest professional moment so far?
My biggest professional moment was when I organized the first and biggest obstacle course race in the Middle East (Urban Race). Watching how individuals, athletes and sports enthusiasts flocked from different parts of the country to take part in the race and seeing how happy and excited they were upon completing it left me overcome with contentment and a feeling of absolute success.
What was your biggest professional challenge?
My biggest challenge was creating and successfully organizing the first obstacle course race, Urban Race, in 2014. The team and I were concerned about the community’s response to this type of event.
Has sports/fitness always been an important part of your life?
Yes, as I mentioned before I started playing sports at the age of 7 and since then it has helped me in so many ways. Aside from the obvious health and shape benefits, sports helped me get through the toughest of times. It’s my passion and where I find peace of mind.
How was your first kitesurfing experience like?
The first time I experienced kitesurfing I felt like I was flying and touching the clouds and the adrenaline rush became an addiction.

Why would you encourage someone to try kitesurfing?
It is an experience like no other. A person learns so much about themselves and about nature. It takes you from mortal to a flying superhero.
Do you see any local kitesurfers with potential to become pro riders?

What do you think would boost the sport of kitesurfing in Egypt?
Hosting kitesurfing events.
